Hello Oppositelock
I spent a transfer year in Germany between September 2014-2015, and through them visited the most important car museums in Germany and spotted a few unicorns here and there.
Naturally, I was my own friend on the most of this trip as everyone I knew wasn’t that focused on cars.
I thought it was a shame to not post those picture to you people. This is to share what you will see or what and where you can visit in Germany.
And so, here is a few snippets from the awesome year:
Frankfurt
was the first trip outside of my city, hence why I whipped out my DSLR for it, first catch a 458 and a then-newest S class. Frankfurt is kinda a small super car city; Lambo’s, F-Types, Aston Martins, etc.. all over the place.
And of course, countless numbers of new and old 911's, but they are common in every city. Brings joy to my heart.
Continuing on to my city,
Wiesbaden
, a city for retired Germans and classy old people, lots of nice cars and F-types, but unfortunately being the city I lived in only had my iPhone with me, save for these two shots:
Old Alfas can be found all over germany
Off then to our badly planned 1-day 12-hour trip via Train (Back and forth) to
Munich
for Oktoberfest, naturally first thing we stopped by was the BMW Welt (BMW World):
Coming from a sunny Middle-East, I found out its true weather sucks in Europe
In the entrance some 435i was pooped on by a dog (probably a dog belonging to a competitor German company)
Lots of classic American cars all over Germany
I adore the Munich police cars ..
Of course Munich wasn’t all covered, until next visit; I went for my birthday to
Stuttgart
, a city I fantasized about since Porsche Unleashed:
Being too excited, I took the wrong underground train and left a station 20 mins walking away, but all good things take a slow time to reach. Got to see the view from far and my god, I started sweating and shaking, it was a dream coming true.
91-fricking-8
(I should mention there were a bunch of Italian Ferrari guys with their golden hair and red shirts and what not making fun of the 918 and pointing sarcastically at the other Porsche’s)
The 918 decoy/test chassis
I dislike Panamera’s, but it was certainly an old project from Porsche
Porsche’s Thing
Porsche’s Chinese car concept
Outside, the new released 991 GT3 was hiding
Said Ferrari guys were leaving and making a scene in the entrance of the Porsche Museum; two Testarossa and one F430
And off to the nearby Mercedes Museum:
C class design concept
I’m not a big fan of Mercedes. But I was hoping to see the 911 killer (Which was not released until a few months later).
Then a 1 day 50 euro trip to
Paris
popped up. Why not?
Lots of Citroën 2CV and DS touring around taking tourists
Sucks to be a student with limited budget ..
Visiting friends in the lovely city of Würzburg . With the right people, Germany is Heaven:
I love Audi Avants
Yes I do
Clean American classics all over this city
Of course, by now I started to be less impressed by the 911's, Rolls Royces, F-types and other classics. There is just so much of them!
Up next, home of my car: Audi’s
Ingolstadt
:
Beautiful
Dear God!
Thanks Blipshift!
A dodge Ram in Audi HQ? Pickups are actually very rare in non-US military German cities
Nuremberg , a quick stop on the way back from Ingolstadt, however an awesome story coming later on concerning this car
M4 DTM is yummy
Then I joined a group tour to 3 cities outside Germany: Vienna (Austria), Budapest (Hungary), Bratislava (Slovakia):
One of two Tesla Model S taxi in Vienna
Most beautiful city in Europe: Budapest
First Travant I see in my life
A german-plated 911 sitting under the famous hotel by the end of the Bridge
50th Anniversary 911
Mhm
Bratislava, feels satisfying to finally see an Eastern European country. Very depressing weather and very very cold.
First time the ATS hits the EU, never expected to see it here
Then I had the opportunity to visit my brother in the UK, I spent 2 days in London. It was during new years so literally everything was closed. To be honest, I was walking around and found those car dealers, I have no idea where they are now.
Lovely colour
Russian-Plated Mustang in London
This is all for now, then comes the Concept car museum in Hamburg, Berlin, Formula E, DTM and the rest.
